Arts Council Presents the Fifth Annual Connections Project 2017 Tour
The Connections Project innovative road show continues with a reception April 6-17 at Royal Furniture, and April 18- May 12 at the Gato Building in Key West, featuring a vibrant 24-foot mosaic mural created by local artists and art lovers. The exhibit is open to the public. The large-scale mosaic mural features art by almost 400 Florida Keys residents and is touring the island chain to celebrate the connection between the community and local cultural initiatives.

Traditionally, 15 target species and $5,000 in cash prizes await anglers. Participants vie for cash awards for catching the heaviest dolphin, kingfish, cobia, blackfin tuna, mackerel, mutton snapper, wahoo, mangrove snapper and grunt. In addition, cash awaits boat teams that score the most releases of tarpon, permit, bonefish, barracuda, marlin and sailfish. Awards also are presented each year in the junior division for anglers under age 15.

Kids enjoy games, arts & crafts, Nancy Forrester's exotic birds, butterflies from the Butterfly Conservatory, and a "selfie" corner with costumes. Member families and children under 3 are admitted free; non-members are $5 per child over age 3 (their adult companions are free). Key West Island Swim: FKCC Swim Around Key West
Jun10 The officially sanctioned event is a 12.5-mile swim clockwise around the island of Key West that is open to all age groups. Individual swimmers and relay teams can compete. The route takes swimmers through the waters of the Atlantic Ocean and Gulf of Mexico, ending where they began at Higgs Beach.
